KIT stands for Keeping In Touch. KIT groups are groups of Ranching For Profit School alumni, who meet on one another’s properties to discuss the application of RFP principles. The host rancher will give a brief overview of the operation, describe successes they’ve had and worry areas that persist. They lead a ranch tour during which the group evaluates the health of pastures, discusses animal performance and provides constructive input on management issues facing the business. The field day concludes with a wrap-up discussion with constructive suggestions from participants during a brown-bag lunch.

KIT-Day

KIT meetings are free. They are organized by Ranching For Profit School alumni. Because the participants are Ranching For Profit School alumni, family members of alumni or invited guests, we don’t need to spend a lot of time reviewing basic principles, but can focus on the application of those principles. As a result, KIT group discussions tend to be more focused and constructive than most of the ranch field days many of us have attended.
